MINUTES
JOINT MEETING OF BOARD AND PLAN COMMISSION
JUNE 14, 2004-7:30 P.M.
The meeting was called to order by the Town Chairman, Steven Frame, at 7:30 p.m. The Clerk certified the meeting notice had been properly posted. The meeting was called for a presentation on the preparation of a grant application in the development of a multi-jurisdictional "Smart Growth" Comprehensive Plan by Vierbicher Associates, Inc. The presentation was made by Aaron C. Otto a planner for the Village of Black Earth and an Associate with Vierbicher Associates, Inc.
The Town of Vermont was invited by the Village of Black Earth to participate with the Village along with the Town of Black Earth and the Village of Mazomanie in the preparation of a grant proposal to help carry out the work of developing the Comprehensive Plan.
Present: Steven Frame, David Dybdahl, Bill Hanson, Barbara Grenlie, Mark Sherven, Marian Swoboda, Jim Elleson, Marc Robertson, Donald McKay.
Following the presentation it was decided to invite Mr. Otto to the Plan Commission meeting on June 28 in order to give the Commissioners more time to ask questions concerning the grant application and also on how Vierbicher Associates plan to carry out the writing of the Comprehensive Plan.
The secretary was asked to supply copies of the Wisconsin Statutes governing the comprehensive plan along with copies of other Dane County Town approved plans to the commissioners and board prior to the June 28 meeting.
Materials provided for this meeting included: A letter from Vierbicher Associates, Inc to Steve Frame regarding the agreement to prepare a Smart Growth Grant Application and an informational paper on Smart Growth Comprehensive Planning 2004, Review Criteria. A FY 2004 Comprehensive Planning Grant Manual prepared by the Department of Administration, Division of Intergovernmental Relations is available in the Town's Clerk Office.
